San Diego is loaded with free concerts in parks located throughout the county all summer long. Bring a picnic and some chairs, and enjoy free live music under the stars almost every night of the week. Check out this full list of summer concerts.

Music isn’t the only thing happening in San Diego’s parks this summer. Summer Movies in the Park is a series of free outdoor movie events sponsored by the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation, the Cities of San Diego, Chula Vista, El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, Oceanside, Poway, San Marcos, Vista, and the USS Midway Museum. You can use this schedule to find a free movie playing at a park near you.

There are a some companies in San Diego that are ready to give you a thrill on the water this summer!

Ever wanted to fly? Who hasn’t? There are three different options for you to take flight, or at least hover, over the bay in SD this summer.

Aquatic Aviation: channel your inner Marty McFly and try out a Hoverboard. The Hoverboard is similar in shape and mechanics to a snowboard, surfboard, wakeboard, or longboard and can reach speeds up to 25 MPH and heights of 30 ft.

Fly Guys Watersports: flyboarding is another option for thrill seekers. Flyboarding uses jet propulsion technology to allow the participant to fly above the water at safe heights or swim in the water like a dolphin.

Full Moon Pier Walks

The Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier, normally closed to the public, is used by scientists, students, and aquarium staff for a variety of research projects. During the summer, exclusive moonlit tours will be offered giving you the chance to walk along the pier. You can also collect plankton, learn about bioluminescent organisms, and explore current research while engaging in hands-on activities.
